More money wasted in Bermuda

Exterior shot of the handicap pool. Posted by Picasa

So much for living in a wealthy country

This is another one of those things that gets me down. This pool was opened up over Twenty years ago. It was built for the physical and mentally handicap persons of Bermuda. It has been disused for years. Not on the governments high list of priorities I guess! Posted by Picasa

Follow up: Spoke to Willard Fox (Foxy) as he is known in Bermuda. He is a disabled person and is I believe in charge of the physical handicap association.

He confirmed my thoughts, and I believe this needs a follow up. Apparently the pool develouped problems in the foundation and the "experts" say it needs to come down. Well after ten years, and nothing being done I believe the time has come to "light a fire under someones ass"

Swimming or just being in a pool is a good form of therapy and Mr fox would like to see something happen.....soon!

But between the politics and the passing of the buck, it seems that nothing will happen anytime soon.

I promised Foxy that I would come up and see him after Chritmas in the hopes of getting the cogs and gears that make up the relevent government departments turning again.

More Crap to deal with!

I am pissed, really! My oldest daughter was in a motorbike accident almost two weeks ago. She just turned seventeen, and in my understanding of our law, she is still a child. Eighteen makes her a legal adult.

I actually need to go back about a year, she was having problems in school, and dropped out before she was sixteen. She got a full time job in February this year, and after six months they let her go. While employed I had to take her off of my insurance plan. This is were my problems started.

In Bermuda the government subsidises children 16 and under and still in school. They provide all hospital treatments, but nothing else (ie doctors, glasses and medication) So three months ago I put her back on my plan because she was not working. ( she is studying for her GCSE's at home)

Back to the accident, she goes to the hospital a few days later as she is having some abdominal pain. She has some problems checking in to the emergency room were they tell her mom to check with the insurance company. That evening we go to get her pain medication and the pharmacy informs us that we owe almost sixty dollars that the insurance company refused to pay. Seems like she is still not insured.

So the next day at work I check with our office to find out why? I am told that it will be looked into. Later that day I get a call inquireing if she is still in school. Whats that got to do with it?

Come to find out, EVERYTHING!!!

As she is not in school, the insurance company does not offer any coverage, even though she is still not eighteen yet, still a dependant, still a child for heavens sake.

Back to the begining. I am pissed!!! I spent a couple of hours on the phone today talking to various insurance companies. One of which gave me the right answer in my view. Their policy offers dependants coverage untill their ninteenth birtday, in school or not, the up to twenty six years old if they are still in school. Unfortunately my group plan is with another company. Their plan is up to twenty six years old, still in school. If your child is out of school for any reason. BAMM!!! NO COVERAGE. I have t take out a private plan of either one hundred and thirty dollars for basic coverage (ie nothing but hospital) or almost four hundred dollars for major medical. Which she had while under my insurance anyway. Now you see why I am mad.

So at the moment my daughter has no insurance, and if she has another accident or need any dental work done, we are screwed. Oh yeah now I have a big hospital bill to pay because of all the tests done to her last week. (before I found out about all this crap)

And no bike for her to ride to her part time job because the lady that hit her has not signed the insurance papers to admit liability. (but thats another story!)

Rainy Morning Drive to work

Took this shot driving to work this morning at 5:00 am. I wish I had a better camera as the only digital I have is all automatic. I have to trick the camera to do time exposures. Posted by Picasa

I don't like Santa!!!

Poor thing looks like he just not want to take part in the parade. The All Bread Club had a float, but It was windy and cool, and this dog did not like his headgear. Posted by Picasa

Bermuda Walls

Bermuda has a lot of rough built walls made out of limestone. I love the weathered look. Expect to see lots of wall pictures. Posted by Picasa

Dandelions

I just love dandelions, one has been completely blown away, the other was perfect. Posted by Picasa

Pictures From The Triangle

What to do with my new (old) blog. I used to be a newspaper photograher, so I think I will focus on pictures.

Most will be things that I see around Bermuda. They might be boring or exiting, it all depends on your or my point ov view.

Also I might make a comment or two.......................or more just depends on how I feel.

anyway on with the show.........................

Time for a change

Well it's happened! The final straw so to speak. I have followed my many blogsters and after pulling up stakes, I have hopefully found a new home. I set up this blog to comment on coldonions site. Then found out my sister was over on Blogster so she encouraged me to post over there.

Well the last few months over at Blogster have seen a lot of changes and after todays latest I backed up my blog as well as my sisters and have decided to "move on up"

I will only say this reguarding the latest incident BANNING SOME ONES IP ADDRESS is not a good way of doing business. If you cant stand the heat..........stay out of the kitchen

more to come

Followup...................

Well I have tried everything to get my sister on to her old blog. The onlyway I can do it is thru a proxyserver. I have been told that "she is not banned" well it's too late even if she was'nt banned.
